The Rolling Stones had just released the epic masterpiece Exile on Main Street a couple of months before, and then embarked on a summer tour of North America (see more here). For only $6.50 you could see the "World's Greatest Rock and Roll Band" in all of their glory. A very dear family friend did see them that night 40 years ago...and held on to the ticket stubs and eventually gave them to me.
