Endeavouring
In my studio the question is no longer what but how...
How many pages are there?
How am I going to make room?
How are they going to hang?
How fragile are they?
How readable?
How obscure?
How black?
But the most important question is...How does a book take over a room?
I don't know yet, but I'm working on it.

Where I've been spending my time (Part 2)
Papermaking: molds and deckles, felts, pulp strainers,
and the fiber mixer
and the fiber mixer
I've been spending a lot of my time making paper this semester. As a bookmaker and someone who works primarily on paper, I've always wanted to learn the process. It is a messy, long, wonderfully tactile process.
I've been working mostly in the Eastern sheet forming style to make delicate sheets. I've been imbedding images and text and playing around with the transparency of the fibers. Recently I've begun to work in the Western style to make thick sheets using cotton fiber.
