Happiness is...

Happiness is a red chair.

Well...two red chairs to be exact. I fell in love with the classic Emeco Navy chairs a couple of years ago and hoped one day to own one. After months of waiting I am now the proud owner of a pair of Emeco 111 Navy chairs. They have found a happy home in my studio where I plan to sit in one and draw the other. Quite the utilitarian muse.

I think a new chair series is in the works...

Two more... Sumi ink wash on Khadi paper, 4x6"

Two very different iterations from the same night. Some become more abstracted than others. I never quite know what the end result will be, they just become something unto themselves. That's part of the fascination of doing them.
